Dr. Makula studied human medicine at The Heidelberg University Hospital after her apprenticeship to become a medical-technical radiology assistant. To supplement her education, she also attended courses in psychosomatics during a stay in Switzerland. Dr. Makula obtained her doctorate in the field of chronic back pain at the Department of Orthopedics and the Department of Psychosocial Medicine of The Heidelberg University Hospital. Subsequently, she worked at the Department of Nuclear Medicine of The University Medical Center Freiburg and joined our practice in 2007.

Dr. Makula passed her exams to become medical specialist in nuclear medicine in 2008. In 2009 she acquired the PET certificate (certificate for positron emission tomography) of the German Society of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Makula has established herself in the Practice for Nuclear Medicine at the Schwabentor since 2010. Ever since she’s been director of the group practice together with Dr. Hauk. She’s responsible for the full range of nuclear medicine diagnosis and therapy. Her specialization lies in diagnosis of thyroid disorders and neurological diagnostic imaging by use of scintigraphy and positron emission tomography (dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson)
